Boiled peanuts is a snack food often sold from rural roadside stands in the Southern United States. Often the only advertising is a simple hand-lettered sign with a statement such as HOT BOILED P-NUT 'S. The peanuts are boiled in the shell and seasoned like beans. Eating boiled peanuts while driving is best done with a partner as the peanuts must be shelled before eating and the snack tends to be messy.
