Neil Mallon Bush (born January 22, 1955 in Midland, Texas) is the son of President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush and younger brother of President George W. Bush and Governor Jeb Bush. He was on the board of directors of Silverado Savings and Loan during the 1980s and was a focal point of publicity stemming from the savings and loan crisis. Although the media and Democrats in Congress made much of Bush's supposed conflicts of interest, no criminal charges were presented against him and a civil action brought against him and the other Silverado directors by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was settled.
He and his former wife of 23 years, née Sharon Smith, now divorced, are the parents of three children, including model Lauren Bush. He was remarried on March 6, 2004 to Maria Andrews in Houston, Texas.
Neil was named after a good friend of the family, Henry Neil Mallon, chairman of Dresser Industries, George H. W. Bush's employer (Mallon had himself been hired by George Herbert Walker, GHWB's grandfather).
In 1999 Bush cofounded an educational-software company, List of well-known U.S. presidential relatives
