Shrewsbury School is a British public school, located in Shrewsbury in the county of Shropshire. It is a boarding school for boys aged 13 ("Year 9") to 18 ("Year 13").

Other Old Salopians include Richard Ingrams, Christopher Booker and Paul Foot (who are all, like Willie Rushton, closely associated with Private Eye), Lord Hutton, John Peel, Tim Booth (lead singer of the band James) and Mark Sinker (author, journalist and former editor of The Wire magazine).
It was founded in 1552 by King Edward VI, and in 1571 was augmented by Queen Elizabeth I.
